Out
of the knowledge, love and service of the Sacred Heart
of our Divine Savior, a new legion of lay Catholics
is emerging nationwide to proclaim the truths of the Faith He
revealed to mankind.Ready to heed the call of John
Paul II, who challenged the Church to 'Re-Evangelize the
Baptized', the Legionaries of the Sacred Heart affirm
their determination to respond to the 'dictatorship of
relativism' that is confronting the world, by means of
the 'New Apologetics' called for by Benedict XVI's
predecessor.
Eager to learn from Him who is 'Meek and Humble of
Heart', Legionaries dedicate time, prayer and resources
to contend for the Faith delivered unto the Saints
(Jude 1:3).
Headquartered at the New Evangelization Office of the
National Shrine of the Sacred Heart, Harleigh,
Pennsylvania, the Legionaries of the Sacred Heart of
Jesus are careful not to confuse 'meekness and humility'
with 'weakness and mediocrity'.
They call upon Lay Catholics from all walks of life
in North America to make a commitment to a greater
learning of the Catholic Faith, love of the Catholic
Faith and service to the Catholic Faith to their best of
their ability.
To become a Legionary, you must
Sign the Legionaries Pledge and send it to the New Evangelization Office PO Box 1393, Conyngham, PA 18219
You will then receive the Welcome Package, inviting
you to contribute to the National Shrine of the Sacred
Heart. With your regular donation, you will receive the
Course of the 12 Promises
on a monthly basis; a CD and
four-page newsletter.
Generous donors and faithful Legionaries will also
receive a 1" enameled badge of the Sacred Heart Shield
and a block-mounted image of the Sacred Heart to be
enthroned in your home.
